Stefano Marcelo

Stefano Marcelo was born into one of the Philippines' most successful families in racing. He is a third generation scion of the Marcelo racing family. A grandson of the late business tycoon and one of the pioneers of Philippine motorsport Eddie Marcelo and a nephew of Jovy Marcelo, the only Filipino to ever compete in Indy Car racing, Stefano's destiny was to follow suit in his family's footsteps.

At a very young age, Stefano showed his natural talent when he first hopped into a go kart at the age of 10, considerably late when most race car drivers get their first taste as toddlers. It didn't take very long until they realised that he was a natural in a circuit and that his racing DNA proved to be as potent as the elders in his family. It didn't take long before his father John Marcelo, another successful racing driver and multiple jet-ski champion, decided to turn racing into a full-blown career.

Eventually, Stefano would compete locally and around Asia to win the Asian Karting Championship twice, and the Philippine Karting Championship four times. He is also a 3-time Golden Wheel Award winner, 10th in the Rok Karting World Championship, and in 2008, he became a Tony Kart Factory Driver, wherein he was based in Italy. Stefano also trained under QuadraSports, which is a driver management firm that is linked to Formula 1 teams. His last stint in motor racing was when he joined the Philippine GT300 Championship, and finished in 3rd place overall during his rookie season.

After graduating with a degree in Finance, and after years of conceptualizing a top quality Philippine-based show with his uncle Enzo Teodoro, he was finally able to collaborate with partners Kenneth Boren and Miguel Olfindo to see the birth of Opus Macchina. With his racing knowledge and experience, Stefano completes the circle of the show's cast of characters.
